Variable Frequency Resonant Test System for High Voltage Switchgear Testing
The SXBP Variable Frequency Resonant Test System is engineered to conduct AC withstand voltage tests on 10kV to 500kV electrical equipment in substations. By matching the inductive reactance of the reactor with the capacitive reactance of the test object at a specific frequency, the system achieves a high-quality factor (Q), enabling high-voltage output with remarkably low input power and ensuring minimal waveform distortion for safe and efficient testing.
Key Features
- High Efficiency & Compact Design: Utilizes reactive power compensation, drawing less than 1/10 of the test object's apparent power for reduced input requirements and compact, cost-effective design.
- Exceptional Output Waveform Quality: Series resonance circuit ensures nearly pure sinusoidal current with extremely low total harmonic distortion (THD).
- Inherent Fault Current Limitation: Natural short-circuit current limitation to less than 1/10 of pre-fault test current during insulation failures.
- Safe Arc Quenching & Voltage Recovery: Automatic arc extinction with controlled, gradual voltage recovery preventing dangerous spikes.
Applications
- Transformer Insulation Withstand Tests
- Commissioning & Maintenance Tests for MV/HV Cables
- Factory & On-site Tests for GIS Components
- Insulation Integrity Verification of Insulators/Bushings
- Accuracy & Safety Tests for Instrument Transformers
- Generators & Large Motors during Maintenance
- A Wide Range of High-Voltage Equipment

Note: Model SXBP-27/54/108-108: SXBP is the model series, 27/54/108 indicates voltage of one reactor (kV)/voltage of two reactors in series connection/voltage of four reactors in series connection. 108 is the total capacity (KVA). For equipment with smaller capacity and lower voltage, additional reactors can be added to increase capacity, and more dividers to increase test voltage.
